I can handle hunting. I love meat. Venison is great! Elk is great! Rabbit is awesome! Especially rabbit that's been eating sage! I love gamey meat!

Even then, if you're gonna hunt, do it so it IS hunting. There is already one hell of a handicap the game is facing. Here we are, smart and cunning. There they are, tranquil and peacful. Here we are, with guns that can pick off the strongest buck at 1,000 meters. There they are, unaware of our cunning ability to take their lives.

The problem is that more people get into it to sing praise of nailing a trophy buck or bull. When I was a kid, we hunted for food. There was no pride in taking the life of another, it was for survival. We needed food, we hunted.

Let's see how people feel if there really was a "Preditor" space alien hunting people. In fact, let's look at fish. I love fish. Trout is my favorite. But we use what to get them? Food. They are hungry and so we dangle food on a hook. They just want to eat. They just want to live. If you're gonna do it, use a net or spear fish. But to use food?

Why not go to a elementary school dangle food from a large hook and see what we catch? Difference? Is there much other than we are supposedly more intelligent than the fish? Intelligent perhaps, but humane?
Or better yet, get a huge Victor trap and put a donut on it. Lets see how many cops we snag. Is that better? No. Doesn't matter who we choose, if they aren't human it's ok to be inhumane?

I think I would like to put my 2 cents in on this one being how I am an ATV rider and have been from day one after they came out, I use them for hunting for the most part but my family also enjoys riding them so we ride when ever we get the chance.

When ATV's first came out there where no rules at all to where and how you could ride them and people where taring up things that never should of been bother in the first place so rules where put in place to control this. It is like anything in life if people are left to themselves in situations like this sooner or later things like this will happen and laws and rules are put in place because of it. I feel that as long as I follow the rules I see no reason I can't use the public land along with any other group of people in their pursuit of the outdoors. I feel that if you are going to use the outdoors then there are ethic's that you go by in doing so and any good outdoors men follows those ethic's to the tea, one of those for an ATV rider is to ride in a responsably manner at all times and for the most part from what I see when I ride 98% of the riders do just this its the 2% thats hurts everyone else that enjoys this kind of things. I as an outdoors men has a responsibly if I see someone braking the law that I have to report it, thats why they put #'s on the back of ATV's so if I see these kind of things they could track them down.

As far as deer hunting goes I have been able to shoot a deer most every year I have hunted riding an ATV, the thing is I ride it to where I want to hunt then get off of it and do my hunting. I have found that ATV's are to noise they scare off the animals before you would ever see them, so any one that really wants to get a deer, elk or what every they are hunting has a lot better chance if they get off of the bike to do it.

With all of that said what about the guys that can't get out and walk on their own do they have the right to use the outdoors like any other group, you see these kind of people ATV's are the only way they can get out and do things outside. I think there is room for everyone in the outdoors as long as everyone follows the ethic's that are in place for most anything that someone would do outdoors.

So lets see here we have a guy that eats all kinds of fish and meats but talking down to those who hunt and catch them, something seems off here don't Ya think. The only difference between you and a guy like me is you go to the supermarket to get your fish, beef and Me I go and get it for myself leaving out the middleman. I myself like to keep up on how to do this for myself because you never know one day I just might have to do it if I want to eat, what are you going to do if something where to happen and you can't go to the store to get these things after all man has been doing these things years before you ever came around.

No true outdoorsman rides an ATV for fun, sorry. And to tell the truth they arent really fun to ride either unless you are missing part of your brain. I have zero problem with riding them on established fire roads just stay the f#$% on the roads and pick up all the garbage that seems to magically appear anywhere an ATV has been.
